On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Prague Linguistic Circle, the Department of Czech and Comparative Literature is organizing a colloquium dedicated to the lesser-known international relations of this important part of Czech scientific history. As a meeting of the international community dedicated to the history of structuralism, it aims to examine the mechanisms of cultural transfer as well as the themes raised by transnational contacts and movements.
The two-day international colloquium is co-organized by the MODERNITAS center at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and Zürich University. Invited lectures will be given by Tomáš Glanc (University of Zurich) and John E. Joseph (University of Edinburgh). The working languages are English and French.
Application deadline: November 30, 2025
