Csaba Horváth: „László Krasznahorkai: The Nobel Prize-Winning Master of a Familiar Apocalypse“

The Department of Hungarian Studies invites you to an English-language lecture by Budapest-based literary scholar Dr. habil. Csaba Horváth. Lecture abstract available here: László Krasznahorkai’s recent Nobel Prize in Literature was awarded in recognition of „his compelling and visionary oeuvre that, in the midst of apocalyptic terror, reaffirms the power of art”. In addition to the author’s ouvre, the Nobel Prize Committee’s justification offers an opportunity for reflection on the role of art in our time, the potentials for small languages in world literature and the adaptation of literary works.
