Dr Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi) met with Dr Eva Voldřichová Beránková (Vice Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Arts) to discuss future cooperation.

The Egyptological Museum of the Leipzig University has opened the exhibition Gegossene Götter (Cast Gods) which includes the first results of the project in which the Czech Institute of Egyptology takes part.

On the 6th and 7th November 2015, an international conference devoted to Jan Zábrana, an outstanding Czech writer and translator of the second half of the 20th century, was hosted by the Institute of Translation Studies.

Since 2011, Professor Halík has been taking part in an international research project organised by the Council, and since the beginning of 2015, he has been a regular member of the Council.

Professor Jan Čermák Received the Minister of Education Award for the outstanding outcomes of his research.

Martin Hilský, professor of English literature and renowned Shakespearean scholar, received the prestigious National Award Česká hlava 2015 for his outstanding, sustained contribution to Czech research.

On 15 – 17 November, the University of Notre Dame held a Templeton conference about Professor Halík’s contribution to contemporary philosophy of religion.

On 17 November 2015, at the International Students’ Day, students of Charles University were demeaned and the significant national holiday was abused for the promotion of specific political aims.

The academic community of the Faculty of Arts is shaken by the the news about the terrorist attacks on 13 November 2015 in Paris. We want to express our deep sympathy with the survivors and those who have lost their loved ones.
