Noura Wahby (AUC): Chronicling Egyptian Environmentalism and Urban Grassroots Movements

The Department of Middle Eastern Studies at CU FA invites all interested in environmental topics to a lecture by Dr. Noura Wahby from the American University in Cairo (Egypt).

Annotation:
Noura Wahby is an assistant professor at the Public Policy and Administration Department of the American University in Cairo. Previously she was an ESRC Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Geography at the University of Cambridge. Her doctoral research at Cambridge’s Centre of Development Studies focused on the political economy of urban development and urban waterscapes in Cairo, Egypt. While working with the Cambridge Centre of Smart Infrastructure, her research focused on citizen engagement, digital technologies, and local infrastructure in the UK. She has also worked in the Middle East as an international development consultant and her research interests include the urban commons, informality, water, and political geography.
