Jan Koura’s study wins Article of the Year Award in the Journal of Balkan and Near Eastern Studies

The Vasileois Fouskas and Bülente Gökay Best Article of the Year Award for 2025 has been awarded to Jan Koura from the Institute of History for his article In the Service of the Eastern Bloc: Czechoslovak Intelligence and the Cyprus Conflict 1974–1989.

Robert Roreitner Receives the Bedřich Hrozný Award for Creative Achievement for 2024

On 7 April 2025, on occasion of the anniversary of the founding of Charles University, Mgr. Robert Roreitner from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at CU FA has received an award for a series of four extensive and tightly interconnected studies, published in the prestigious philosophical magazines.

Prof Eva Voldřichová Beránková from the Department of Romance Studies at CU FA Received a Major French Award

The Vice-Rector for International Affairs of Charles University has been awarded the French title of Knight of the National Order of Merit. She received it on 6 March from His Excellency Stéphane Crouzat, Ambassador of France to the Czech Republic.

A Graduate of CU FA Received the French Order of Arts and Letters

Doc. Jana Semerádová received the Order of Arts and Letters in the rank of Knight from the hands of the French Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Stéphane Crouzat, on 4 December 2024. The graduate of Musicology at CU FA received the Order for the popularization of French Baroque music and cultural heritage.

Rector Honours Key Individuals on 17 November Anniversary

The Rector of Charles University Prof Milena Králíčková awarded for the first time the Cori Award for contributing to equal opportunities to Prof Alena Macurová. The Arnošt of Pardubice Award for outstanding pedagogical activity was awarded to Prof Petr Čermák and an honorary mention of the Grant Agency of CU was awarded to a PhD student Kristina Doležalová.
