Displaced Persons due to the Armed Conflict in Ukraine Can Apply to Charles University without a Fee

Based on the Rector’s Measure No. 5/2024 of 19 February 2024, applicants who have been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic due to the armed conflict in Ukraine are exempt from the following:

  1. the administrative fee for the admission procedure
  2. the fee for the recognition of diplomas (nostrifikace)

The applicants need to prove their temporary protection in the Czech Republic at any faculty of Charles University either:

  1. by producing a plain copy of the relevant document with the date of the copy and a handwritten signature, which does not need to be certified, or
  2. by submitting the relevant document, from which the faculty makes a plain copy with the date of the copy and the signature of the officer.

This measure applies to a foreigner who has been granted temporary protection in the Czech Republic pursuant to Act No 65/2022 Coll., on certain measures in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of Ukraine caused by the invasion of the Russian Federation.

Applications for most BA programmes can be submitted by 29 February 2024, and for later accredited programmes by 31 March 2024. Applications for follow-up MA degree programmes can be submitted by 31 March 2024, and for PhD programmes by 30 April 2024.
