CENTRAL Leadership Program 2026

  • takes place from 30 August to 20 September 2026
  • aimed at MA and Ph.D. students interested in politics, history and culture
  • 30 students from five universities affiliated with the CENTRAL Network, from Ukraine’s Ivan Franko University in Lviv, the Ukrainian Catholic University, and Hungary’s Andrássy University, will travel to Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Berlin, and Warsaw
  • program includes lectures, workshops, cultural activities and free time activities
  • participants will receive financial support covering most of the costs associated with participating in the program
  • 5 CU candidates will be selected

The Wirth Institute for Austrian and Central European Studies (University of Alberta, Canada) – Czech Doctoral Research Fellowship

  • aimed at Ph.D. students at Czech universities
  • research stays at the Wirth Institute
  • scholarships are awarded to students in the humanities, social sciences, and arts to support research activities leading to the successful defense of their dissertations

The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is designed to support the mobility of foreign students, PhD students and university teachers, researchers and artists for stays at Slovak universities and research organisations.

Regular application deadlines:

  • 31 October at 4 pm – for stays in the summer term of the current academic year
  • 30 April at 4 pm – or stays in the following academic year
