The aim of inter-university and inter-faculty agreements is to support student and academic mobility and to provide scientific cooperation between partner universities or faculties.
Students visiting a partner university within the framework of a contract do not pay tuition fees, all other costs, unless otherwise stipulated in the contract, are borne by the student.

The American University in Cairo

- agreement content: regular reciprocal exchange of two students per semester stay per academic year

- this is a private American university

- to take part in the programme, you must provide a proof of language proficiency (see the partner university´s requirements) – the required test results must be available by no later than the deadline of the partner university’s online application
Hitotsubashi University
- valid until: 25 August 2030
- agreement content: regular reciprocal exchange of two students per semester stay per academic year (or one student per year stay) – applicants must have completed at least two years of university studies by the time of departure
- a regular selection process is held 1–2 times a year (depending on the number of available places)

Ochanomizu University:
Faculty of Letters and Education + Graduate School of Humanities and Sciences
- valid until: 23 February 2031
- agreement content: regular reciprocal exchange of two students per semester stay per academic year (or one student per year stay) – applicants must be female or of female gender identity
- classes are taught in Japanese, and applicants are expected to have an appropriate level of proficiency in the language (primarily intended for students of Japanese studies)
- a regular selection process is held 1–2 times a year (depending on the number of available places)

Osaka University:
Graduate School of Humanities + School of Letters + School of Foreign Studies
- valid until: 13 July 2027
- agreement content: regular reciprocal exchange of 2-4 students per semester stay per academic year (or 1-2 students per year stay) – applicants must have started at least 2nd year of their BA studies by the time of departure
- classes are taught in Japanese – partner university requires a JLPT certificate at N2 level or higher (primarily intended for students of Japanese studies)
- a regular selection process is held 1–2 times a year (depending on the number of available places)

Sophia University
- valid until: 13 January 2033
- agreement content: regular reciprocal exchange of two students per semester stay per academic year (or one student per year stay) – applicants must have completed at least one year of university studies by the time of departure

Sogang University

Tunghai University, College of Arts, Taichung
- valid until: 13 January 2027

- the costs include compulsory insurance under the partner university’s scheme
- students who enrol in Chinese language courses at the Chinese Language Centre may be eligible for financial support in the form of a Taiwan Europe Connectivity Scholarship
Regular calls for applications
- Current calls are published here. In addition, information is sent to coordinators at individual departments and institutes and also directly to students by e-mail via SIS, information can also be found on FB of the International Relations Office.
- For inter-university agreements, applications are made via the Rectorate’s online application, the deadlines given in the specific call for applications should be followed.
- For inter-faculty agreements, there is not yet a link to the application and the instructions in the call for applications must be followed.
Individual exchanges
- there may be agreements in the above lists that are not part of any call
- this is usually because it is only a general Memorandum of Understanding and each potential mobility must be negotiated separately
- in these cases it is best to choose a specific university and check with the FA CU International Office for further action
- please note that partner universities often have application deadlines set a year in advance, so you need to start arranging everything in time
- the application usually includes Transcript of Records, cover letter, recommendation from a supervisor, CV

Study abroad registration
- Before departure, students are obliged to register their mobility in the Internships module in SIS.
- We also recommend that Czech citizens register in the DROZD system of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Final documents
- Final Report on Charles Abroad – not mandatory, but it is always helpful as feedback for CU and for future exchange students
- if you have received a scholarship from the Mobility Fund, you are required to upload to IsVěda final documents of this programme
Course recognition
- if outgoing students wish to have courses/ECTS credits from abroad recognized, they should contact the coordinator at their home department – ideally, they should make preliminary arrangements at the beginning of their stay abroad so that it is clear in advance which courses and under what conditions can be recognized
- credits earned during a study abroad program will not be automatically recognized, not even as an elective course
- upon return, the student must submit a transcript of records from the host institution to the coordinator and agree on the form of credit recognition
- based on this agreement, the student completes Podklad pro uznávání předmětů ze zahraničí, which is sent to the coordinator via e-mail along with the transcript
- the coordinator will forward the documents to the Office of Bachelor’s and Master’s Studies with instructions for recognition
