Main Entrance Closed at Night from 3 to 4 June

On Thursday, 3 June, at 8 pm to Friday, 4 June, at 5 am, the main entrance of the CU FA building in nám. Jana Palacha will be closed due to a film shooting project.

Lucie Korecká: The Hobbit Opened Door to Nordic Sagas

The work of J. R. R. Tolkien was influenced by Icelandic and Norse mythology and Korecká went on to read Edda and the Nordic sagas. After learning English and German at high school, she pursued her passion for Old Norse at the Faculty of Arts, where she is completing her PhD.

Call for Papers – Culture as Interface and Dialogue: An Interdisciplinary Conference

The main objective of the conference is to discuss alternatives to essentialist notions of cultural identity. We invite the reconceptualization of cultures interfaces of transcultural communication which engender dialogue and use fictions to enable and facilitate sharing knowledge, emotions, attitudes, beliefs and values.

The Operation of CU FA Libraries from 25 May 2021

From Tuesday 25 May 2021, the libraries in the main building of CU FA (nám. Jana Palacha 1/2), libraries in the Sporck Palace (Hybernská 3) and Mongolian and Tibetan Studies Library will reopen.
