Declaration of a state of emergency at Charles University

On 4 November 2020, the Rector of Charles University, prof. Tomáš Zima, by the Rector’s measure No. 46/2020, declared a state of emergency at the entire university, effective from 5 November 2020. At the same time, the Rector appointed the Central Crisis Staff of Charles University with this measure. The declaration of a state of emergency means that it is possible to proceed in accordance with Articles 66c to 66e of the Statute of Charles University. In particular: all university and faculty bodies and commissions may act remotely or vote in writing; it is possible to shorten certain procedural time limits; and all elections to academic senates can take place electronically. The state of emergency lasts until revoked, but no longer than 60 days.

All measures taken so far remain in effect. Charles University publishes information on the coronavirus situation at the Faculty of Arts on koronavirus.ff.cuni.cz.
