On 15 March 2020, an infection of a Faculty of Arts’ student by the new type of coronavirus infection was identified. It is the first confirmed case at CUFA.Following the declaration and instructions issued by the government authorities and the Management of Charles University, the Management of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, has decided on the following measures. All the following measures are continuously updated and are valid until further notice. Their objective is the protection of public health regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease.

  1. All classroom-based learning is cancelled. The continuously updated information about the organization of study is available here.
  2. The classroom-based learning of the university of the third-age programmes and lifelong education courses is cancelled. If possible, they switch to distance learning; if not, their substitutions will be determined later.
  3. All public events organized by the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, or those that should have taken place at its premises are cancelled. All operations at Campus Hybernská are shut down and the entrance is prohibited to all except for the employees of CUFA and supply workers.
  4. All libraries of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, are closed.
  5. The entrance to the buildings of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, is prohibited to all except for the employees and supply workers.
  6. The office hours of all departments of the Dean’s Office and secretariats of other departments and institutions are called off. You may find more information here. The operation and access to the Filing Office are secured. You may find the current information here.
  7. All staff in agreement with the decision of their supervisors are to restrict their presence at their workplaces to the maximum and simultaneously have to secure the fulfilment of their duties to the greatest possible extent.
  8. All travels abroad of all students and staff are cancelled. We advise to limit or postpone domestic business travels.
  9. We ask all staff and students of the Faculty to follow the information at this webpage regularly and to daily check their e-mail addresses.

According to the decision of management of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, of 12 March 2020, all travels abroad of all students and stuff are cancelled until further notice.

The Decision of the Management of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, 12 March 2020

As a follow-up to today’s declaration of the state of emergency by the Government of the Czech Republic, the Management of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, has decided on the following measures. All measures are valid from 13 March 2020 until further notice. Their objective is the protection of public health regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease.

  1. All travels abroad of all students and staff are cancelled. We advise to limit or postpone domestic business travels.
  2. The entrance to the buildings of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, is prohibited to all people, except for the employees and supply workers. All operations at Campus Hybernská are shut down and the whole complex is closed.
  3. The office hours of all departments of the Dean’s Office and secretariats of other departments are called off. You may find more information here. The operation of and access to the Filing Office are secured. You may find the current information here.
  4. All events for the general public organized by the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, or those that should have taken place at its premises are cancelled.
  5. All staff in agreement with the decision of their supervisors are to restrict their presence at their workplaces to the maximum, and simultaneously to secure the fulfilment of their duties to the greatest possible extent.
  6. An exemption from these measures is provided by the Dean of the Faculty in duly justified cases.

All other related matters are currently dealt with. Further current information and instructions are released here; we ask all staff and students of the Faculty to follow the information regularly and to daily check their e-mail addresses.

Important Measures Regarding the Coronavirus Disease, 10 March 2020

Following today’s decision of the state authorities (The Ministry of Health of CR and The National Security Council), the management of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, provides information about the following measures, with the objective of protecting the public health regarding the spread of the coronavirus disease.

  1. From 11 March 2020, all classes are cancelled and the presence of students and attendees at lectures, courses of all kinds, including the university of the third age and lifelong education courses, is forbidden.
  2. The joint Ball of the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Education (scheduled for 12.3.2020) and all other events, organised by or taking place on the premises of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University, where the anticipated attendance is more than 100 people, are cancelled. All ceremonial assemblies (graduations etc.) at Charles University are cancelled as well.
  3. Academics and researchers of the Faculty are to attend their workplaces according to the instructions of their supervisors. Other employees are to ensure the functioning of the Faculty following the instructions of their supervisors.
  4. From 11.3.2020, all CUFA libraries are closed. The paragraph 3) applies to the staff of the libraries.
  5. The previously published instructions and recommendations are still valid.

All measures are valid until further notice. All related issues are currently being dealt with. The continually updated information is published on our web page and social networks of the Faculty; we ask all staff and students of the Faculty to follow this information on a regular basis and to check their e-mail accounts daily.
