4EU+

The 4EU+ European University Alliance comprises the following universities: Charles University, Heidelberg University, Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Sorbonne University in Paris, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Geneva, the University of Milan, and the University of Warsaw.

If you intend to apply for any of the following types of projects, always inform the faculty 4EU+ administrative coordinator well in advance at marie.hankova@ff.cuni.cz.

  • support of teamwork within the 4EU+ Alliance
  • at least two other 4EU+ universities must be involved in the project
  • projects must be in line with the 4EU+ Alliance Mission Statement and correspond to one of the four selected thematic areas (known as Flagships)
  • support can be used to organize meetings with foreign partners (conferences, workshops, etc.) – these must take place at Charles University, joint research and educational projects, creation of materials supporting alliance cooperation for educational purposes
  • detailed information here

Application attachments:

  • confirmation of partner involvement
  • confirmation that the faculty administrative coordinator has been informed (an email is sufficient)
  • completed budget table
  • consent of the supervisor in the case of doctoral students or the guarantor of the study program for other students
  • 4EU+ Bridging projects replace the previous non-project mobility scheme
  • mobilities that take place at 4EU+ partner universities without a link to a specific ongoing project
  • mobilities that do not take place at the partner institutions but have an explicit connection to 4EU+ activities (e.g. conferences, presentations of cooperation results, networking) – the link of the mobility to the Alliance must always be specified in the justification of the application
  • the programme is a financial support; students must arrange their stay at the partner university themselves in advance (no maximum length is specified, but the purpose must always be duly justified)
  • it is not a substitution for Erasmus+, Mobility Fund and other mobility schemes, but rather a complementary opportunity
  • the amount of the contribution is in accordance with the project rules
  • distance can be calculated using the E+ Distance Calculator
  • students must be students for the whole duration of their mobility

Application documents:

  • acceptance letter from the host institution
  • a programme of the mobility
  • 4EU+ Learning Agreement – must be submitted in case of research trips s well (in that case containf a plan of research activities)

Selections are held 4 times a year, each for the following two quarters (during the given period it is only necessary to start the mobility, not to complete it).

Quarterly deadlines:

  • 15 March for mobilities from 1 April till 30 September
  • 15 June for mobilities from 1 July till 31 December
  • 15 September for mobilities from 1 October till 31 March
  • 15 December for mobilities from 1 January till 30 June

Applications can be submitted from the beginning of the month of the given deadline.

  • students receive financial support as a scholarship based on the Mobility Grant Agreement
  • students will be contacted by the Rectorate

  • partner 4EU+ universities offer shared online courses every semester that are free of charge for CU students
  • students of all fields, types, and grades can apply for the courses
  • each university has its own application deadline, but if capacity is reached, admissions may be closed before the deadline
  • list of all offered courses is available on the Student Portal, courses can be filtered based on different parametres
  • choose your course on the Student Portal
  • click on the link and you will see the basic information, the application deadline, any prerequisites, and instructions from the partner university on how to apply
  • one of the compulsory documents is 4EU+ Learning Agreement – must be signed by the FA CU International Relations Office (marie.hankova@ff.cuni.cz)
  • consult the mobility coordinator at your home department or institute in advance to ensure that your chosen course will be recognized
  • when you finish the course you obtain a Transcript of Records
  • contact your department coordinator who helps you with recognition of the course/ECTS and inform the Student Affairs Office
  • the course will be recognized as Kredity získané uznáním absolvování předmětů v rámci Evropské univerzitní aliance 4EU+/Credits Obtained for Courses within the European University Alliance 4EU+
