Silent Commemoration of JUDr. Milada Horáková in Carolinum

Charles University invites you to a silent commemoration of JUDr. Milada Horáková. We do not want her legacy and courageous act to be forgotten. She represents a symbol telling that freedom is not granted and it is necessary to fight against undemocratic regimes.

Representatives of Charles University academia led by prof. Tomáš Zima will put a wreath by the bust of Milada Horáková in Carolinum on Friday, 25 June 2021 at 9:30 am, in commemoration of 71st anniversary since her death. The entrance of Carolinum (Ovocný trh 3, Prague 1) to visit the bust will be opened for the general public on 25 June 2021 from 10 am to 4 pm.

The bronze bust of JUDr. Milada Horáková was unveiled in Carolinum on 27 October 1992, the author is academic sculptor, Věra Růžičková-Bejrová.

NOTICE:

Due to the location of the bust indoors of the historical building Carolinum and safety measures, it is not possible to commemorate her by lighting a candle, but only by putting a wreath.

Thank you for your understanding.
