Evaluation (assessment of educational activities by students)

Students (primarily bachelor’s and master’s degree students) evaluate courses at the end of each semester (see Academic year Calendar).

  • Evaluations are anonymous and conducted electronically in a unique application.
  • At the beginning of the evaluation, each student will receive a unique access link to the application via email, which will allow them to view the courses they were enrolled in for that semester in SIS.
  • You can then evaluate them all at once or gradually, fully or partially.
  • You can save evaluations that are in progress and return to them later.

In addition to commenting on individual courses and teachers, students can answer questions that are common to all students at the faculty, or questions intended only for students of specific departments, institutes, or study programs.

  • Evaluations—and especially verbal comments—provide individual teachers, department and institute management, and, last but not least, faculty and university management with very valuable feedback.
  • After the evaluations have been completed, the teachers and their superiors can comment on the responses for individual subjects, while the faculty management comments on issues common to all students.

Evaluations are governed by the Rules for the Evaluation of Educational Activities by Students and Graduates of Charles University dated December 14, 2016, and the Rules for the Evaluation of Educational Activities by Students and Graduates of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University dated May 29, 2020.

Due to gradual changes in regulations, methodology, organization, and content of evaluations, the outputs of the individual evaluations listed below are not fully comparable with each other. Until the 2012/13 academic year, various questionnaires were used (see more detailed descriptions of older evaluations under the relevant links).
