Syrian Refugees Through the Eyes of Giles Duley

Giles Duley began his career as a fashion photographer, but he soon left the world of celebrities behind and started to map the stories of people who live in turbulent parts of the world, often in areas plagued by war. When working in Afghanistan in 2011, he stepped on a mine and lost both legs and an arm. In spite of this grave injury, he still works and continues to tell the stories of human beings lost and found, including his own story. During the past two years, he has been documenting the lives of Syrian refugees in Jordan, for example in the refugee camp in Zatari, which is financially supported – among others – by the Czech government.

The presentation of Giles Duley’s work and the following discussion will be in held in English, with consecutive interpreting into Czech.

Free entry.
