Symposium “DISCOVERING TAIWAN IN EUROPE”

The Chiang Ching-kuo International Sinological Center, in cooperation with Inter-University Center for Sinology at Harvard University organizes an international symposium DISCOVERING TAIWAN IN EUROPE.

The symposium is dedicated to the position of Taiwan in sinology and Chinese studies in a broader sense. The discussion will take place within the following panels: Methodological challenges, Taiwan literature and culture, Sinology in Taiwan, Institutional environment.

The participants include sinologists and renowned experts in the field of Taiwan studies from Europe, Taiwan and the US. The programme will feature, inter alia, Jane Liau (National Central Library) on electronic resources and David Der-Wei Wang, professor of Chinese and comparative literature at Harvard University, on sinology from the new perspective of sinophone studies.
