Would you like to gain international experience, improve your language skills, and help others at the same time? The Charles University Buddy Program offers students at the Faculty of Arts the opportunity to support international students as they settle into life in Prague, learn about new cultures, and actively participate in the international environment of the faculty and the university as a whole.
The Charles University Buddy Program connects local Czech students with international students who come to study in Prague. „Buddies“ (local students) voluntarily help newcomers find their way around their new environment – they accompany them when dealing with formalities, familiarize them with how studying and life in the city work, and introduce them to Czech culture and student life.
The program works through the Broaddy app, where local students choose a foreign student according to selected criteria. Interest in participating is traditionally highest before the start of the semester, but applications are accepted throughout the year.
For experienced buddies, the program is also an opportunity to improve their language skills and learn about new cultures. As part of the program, it is also possible to obtain a certificate of completion, which can be beneficial for further study or professional practice.
