Charles University Organizes International Women’s Day in Science at CU

The event will take place on 8 March at the Hybernská Campus in Hall 3A from 6 pm. It celebrates two significant days – International Women’s Day and International Day of Women and Girls in Science – and will feature women across disciplines from a number of different countries, many of whom are based at faculties and other units of Charles University. The whole evening will be held in English.

The programme includes a screening of the documentary film “Picture a Scientist.” The film will be followed by a discussion of foreign women scientists from Charles University, describing their experience working in Czech academia as a foreigner. The debate will be moderated by the Chair of the Charles University Equal Opportunities Council, Prof. Věra Sokolová from the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University.

The debate will also feature Dr. Anna Tropia from the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at CU FA and doc. Clare Wallace from the Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at CU FA.
