Department of South Slavonic and Balkan Studies

Fields of studies in the Department: languages, literatures and history of the Balkan region. The Department organises BA and MA study programmes in South Slavonic and Balkan Studies with language specialisations in Bulgarian, Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian, Romanian and Albanian. It also supervises the completion of the former five-year MA programmes in Slavonic Studies (Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian, Serbian and Slovenian Studies and General and Comparative Slavonic Studies) – untill 2017. In future, we intend to focus more on the philological dimension of our programmes and research and concentrate on different specialisations (Croatian Studies, Slovene Studies, Bulgarian Studies, Serbian Studies, Albanian and Romanian Studies).
