Sustainability in an Unsustainable World

You are cordially invited to the Sustainability in an Unstable World international conference, which is being organized by Charles University and will take place on 16 November 2022.

Sustainability and sustainable development are issues that I consider more relevant today than ever before. Our world has recently undergone a number of fundamental changes. However, we must not only respond to the current situation and cope with its effects, but also think about the condition that we want to pass this world on to future generations in. We continue to face a number of longer-term problems – such as the major issue of climate change – that need to be addressed immediately and now, when there is hopefully still a slight chance that we could reverse, or at least slow down, the negative developments.
